Mutton Biryani is a popular South Asian dish made with mutton (goat meat), bas-mati rice, and a blend of spices. Here's a simple recipe to make delicious Mutton Biryani.
Ingredients:
For Marinate Mutton:
- Mint leaf hand full and corieyender leaf hand full
- 1 kg mutton pieces (with bone)
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- oil
- Briyani masala.

For rice:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ghee (clarified butter)
- Green chilie.
For Biryani Masala:
- 2 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp cloves powder
- jathi patiri.
1. Marinate mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and spices for 30 minutes.
2. Cook basmati rice with salt, water, and ghee until 70% done. Drain excess water.
3. Heat oil in a pan, add onions, and sauté until golden brown.
4. Add marinated mutton and cook until browned.
5. Add Biryani Masala and cook for 2 minutes.
6. Layer cooked rice and mutton mixture in a pot, starting and ending with rice.
Saffron milk 1/4 cup add uper rice
7. Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lemon wedges.
